There is 3 types of matter gas, liquid, solid. Gas has atoms that are the farthest apart on the other hand solids have atoms that are closest to each other and liquid has atoms that are not to far apart but no close either. Gas has a indefinite volume and shape it has definite mass and very very large expansion it has easy compressibility. Liquid has definite volume and mass it has indefinite shape it slightly expands and it has low compressibility. Solids have definite volume, shape and mass it has very low expansion and no compressibility.
